want a better relationship with absolutely anyone?

Oh my! The stories we make up about what is going on and about other people! It’s the curse of individualism – when we are supposed to do everything by ourselves and not need others, we also do relationships by ourselves. We make up stories based on our best guesses about the motives or reasons in the behavior or words of another then act upon what we guess.

We also take guesses as to the best ways to move forward then take action based on those guesses without ever engaging the other person. We just do what we think is the best thing given what we imagine and having no concrete information from the other person.

we’re rich!

This economy nonsense is really so unnecessary.

I’m not saying it’s not real. The nonsense part is about limiting wealth to the monetary aspect of the definition.

The reason I’m writing this is because I have had an abundance of great energy lately. So many people are being loving, and I am seeing so much caring and coming together of the people in my community. Being a part of this is making me feel like the richest woman alive.

I met with a group of people this last Wednesday and there was nothing bought or sold – just an exchange of energy and a shared experience. We all left feeling incredibly rich.

The impact of the economy has a lot more to do with context than with material effect. Yes, people are losing their homes. Yes, people are losing their 401k. But these things in and of themselves are not automatically devastating.

What makes the economy devastating or not is the context people are finding themselves in. Those of us who have weak relationships, weak networks, indeed, weak communities, are the ones who are suffering the greatest, regardless of their actual financial situation.

So, too, for those of us who have low or negative energy.

I am wealthy in both community and energy so I am sharing the wealth and others are sharing with me. And I feel richer now than I ever have.

Why is this so?

For the same reason an employee will stay with a company that gives them less monetary incentive but a greater sense of fulfillment: Meaning.

There are so many ways to create and experience wealth right now. We just have to refuse to be in the fear that makes our hearts small and our energy low. Right now we should not be conserving – we should be giving. GIVING.

What do you have an abundance of? Knowledge? Skills? Energy? Wisdom? Extra space in your home or office you can share? Love? Advice? Insight? Ideas?

We are as rich as we choose to be. But we will never live in the reality of it if we don’t give it away for free.

Ironic, isn’t it?
